The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has issued updated guidance concerning the healthcare provider vaccine mandate.
Beginning on November 22, 2021, all Covered Entities subject to the vaccine mandate must ensure that personnel previously granted a religious exemption to the mandate have documented either:
- A first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine; or
- A valid medical exemption.
NYSDOH also advised that Covered Entities must have in place a process to consider reasonable accommodation requests based on religious beliefs, consistent with state and federal employment laws.
The latest NYSDOH guidance document is available here.
An FAQ on the vaccine mandate regulation is available here.
