In honor of National Mental Health Awareness Month, today we highlight Eric Broutman, Partner in the Mental Health Law Practice at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara, Wolf & Carone, LLP.
Eric’s practice focuses on the areas of mental health and employment law. He has been practicing in the field of mental health law for over 15 years, representing patients and hospital clients. Notably, Eric has been involved in shaping the parameters of the Mental Hygiene Law in numerous Appellate and Court of Appeals matters.
Eric also manages employment and housing discrimination matters involving those with a disability. He has represented numerous clients that have been wrongfully terminated from their employment due to their disability. Moreover, he has assisted numerous employees in obtaining workplace accommodations, such as time off from work to recover from a medical condition, a revised schedule, or other accommodations that allow the individual to continue in the workplace with assistance. He has also represented many disabled individuals seeking to obtain therapy support animals in cases where the landlord does not allow pets.
