Borough’s Largest Law Firm Changes Name to Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara, Wolf & Carone, LLP

Brooklyn, NY, August 2, 2017 – Frank Carone, one of Brooklyn’s most influential political and legal figures, has been elevated to name partner of Abrams Fensterman, which has changed its official name to Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara, Wolf & Carone, LLP. Mr. Carone, who has served as executive partner and head of the Brooklyn office since 2012, has been instrumental in charting the strategic expansion of the full-service firm, which has become the largest in the borough. The firm also has offices in Long Island, Manhattan, and Rochester.

Mr. Carone is a highly experienced attorney with a practice that includes complex civil and criminal matters for individuals, corporations, governmental agencies, NFPs, professional practices and family offices, as well as counselling clients in various government relation strategies. He has successfully handled a broad array of complex litigations across a diverse range of issues, from article 78s through shareholder derivative suits. His business achievements include founding a multi-state mortgage bank with over 200 employees and then negotiating a successful merger of the bank with a larger mortgage institution.

 

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mr. Carone has long devoted himself to serving local organizations. As counsel to the Chairman of the Kings County Democratic County Committee for almost a decade, he has represented many members of the party, including elected officials, and is consulted regularly by attorneys, lobbyists, and other professionals. In 2011, Mayor Bloomberg appointed him to the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission. In 2015 Mayor De Blasio extended his term through 2022. Both New York City Council votes were unanimous.

 

Mr. Carone is an active participant in Bar Association conferences and other seminars offered by different trade associations. He has served as a guest lecturer at the Brooklyn Bar Association, where he is also an Officer, as well as the Columbian Lawyers Association of Brooklyn. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Brooklyn Bar Association, The American Association of Bank Directors, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Kings County Criminal Bar Association and the Columbian Lawyers Association.

 

In addition, Mr. Carone serves in such roles as a Board member and Audit Chair of Hanover Community Bank (HCB), where he led a successful reorganization and recapitalization; Board and Audit Committee Chair of Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Citizens Council, a non-profit with a budget of almost $100 million serving 30,000 constituents, where he helped restructure the agency; and Board Member and Audit Chair of the Catholic Foundation of Brooklyn and Queens. Recently, Mr. Carone joined the founding advisory Board of the New York League of Independent Bankers.

 

Mr. Carone graduated cum laude from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. He received his Juris Doctor at Brooklyn Law School, where he graduated in the top of his class and received the award for American Jurisprudence in Legal Ethics. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1993 to 1995, where, upon completion of Officers Candidate School, he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant. He also graduated from The School of Mortgage Banking.
