Client Alert:
Update to Changes to Fair Labor Standards Act
Sharon P. Stiller, Esq., Eric Broutman, Esq. & Rachel Demarest Gold, Esq.
For those businesses gearing up to change the classifications of their employees, you can relax, at least for a little while.
In a surprise move on November 22nd, a Texas federal judge entered a nationwide injunction blocking the U.S. Department of Labor from implementing the new overtime rules, scheduled to go into effect on December 1st.
How long the reprieve will last remains to be seen, and we will keep you advised.
Should you need additional information, please contact our Employment Law Group directed by Sharon Stiller at [email protected] (585-218-9999); Eric Broutman at [email protected] (516-328-2300) or Rachel Demarest Gold at [email protected] (718-215-5300).
