Josephine Trovini

Josephine Trovini is a Partner at Abrams Fensterman, LLP.  Before joining the Firm, Ms. Trovini served as a Court Attorney – Referee in New York State Supreme Court, Westchester County where she was assigned to matrimonial and family law cases. In that capacity, Ms. Trovini addressed and resolved disputes pertaining to all facets of matrimonial and family law, from complaint to trial, as well as post-judgment matters. Ms. Trovini was also designated a Special Referee where she presided over multiple trials and issued decisions and orders resolving complex and contentious financial and custody matters, several of which were affirmed on appeal by the Appellate Division, Second Department. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Trovini was Senior Counsel at Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich LLP, and Rottenstreich Lieberman Farley, LLP, where she represented litigants in all phases of matrimonial litigation, including in high-net-worth cases.

Prior to her career in the courts, Ms. Trovini was in private practice, first at Camhy Karlinsky & Stein, LLP, in Manhattan; and then with Plunkett & Jaffe, P.C., in White Plains, where she handled both civil and commercial litigation cases, including trials and appeals, in Federal and State Courts.

For 2013 and 2014, she served as the first woman President of the Westchester Columbian Lawyers Association in the organization’s 25-year history. In 2013, she received the Joseph F. Gagliardi Award for Excellence, which is presented yearly by the Westchester County Bar Institute in recognition of distinguished service and dedication to the administration of justice in the Unified Court System for the 9th Judicial District. She routinely volunteers her time as a mentor to Court interns, and as a Mock Trial coach and judge for high school competitions.
