Led by Partner, Justin Kelton, Abrams Fensterman achieved a significant legal victory on behalf of a survivor of workplace sexual assault. The Supreme Court of New York County ruled in favor of our client, recognizing her as a “credible and compelling witness” who experienced “significant fear during the incident and thereafter.” The Court also acknowledged her ongoing struggles with anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, highlighting the “seven years of continuing trauma” she endured as a result.
In a powerful statement on the severity of the conduct, the Court deemed the defendant’s actions “extremely offensive and extremely harmful.” The plaintiff was awarded $750,000, including $500,000 in punitive damages. The Court agreed with Abrams Fensterman’s assertion that the defendant’s actions constituted “extreme and outrageous conduct,” underscoring the seriousness of the case and the importance of accountability.
