Abrams Fensterman LLP Partner Ellyn Kravitz took the stage as a featured speaker at the Brooklyn Columbian Lawyers Association’s latest Continuing Legal Education (CLE) event, held at Gargiulo’s in Coney Island. The program, titled “Yours, Mine, and Who’s Who? Estate Battles, Blended Families and Guardianship Nightmares,” discussed one of the most emotionally charged and legally complex areas of elder law.

Kravitz co-presented alongside Justice Matthew D’Emic and attorney Domenick Napoletano. The speakers shared practical, real-world guidance on navigating Article 81 guardianship proceedings, managing estates involving blended families, and avoiding legal pitfalls that can arise when family dynamics collide with end-of-life planning.

“Trust and Estates is for everybody; everyone needs advanced directives, powers of attorney, health care proxies — people need a will. It’s simply beneficial knowledge.”
