Julia L. Santo is an Associate and a member of the firm’s Elder Law and Estate Planning Group in our Lake Success office. Her practice focuses on Medicaid planning, crafting estate plans, estate administration and probate proceedings, and guardianship.
The passion Ms. Santo has for elder law runs deep. During college, she worked at the Babylon Beach House, an assisted living facility on Long Island where she deeply connected with the residents. She credits her time at the Beach House with molding her into the devoted, kind, and compassionate advocate she is today.
Prior to joining Abrams Fensterman, LLP, Ms. Santo was the managing attorney of the New York City office of a boutique elder law and trust and estates firm. She graduated cum laude from Binghamton University and went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. During her time at Hofstra, she served as the Head Research Editor for the American College of Trust and Estates Law Journal, a high-level academic journal for practitioners of trusts and estates law.
Ms. Santo is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and is an active member of the New York State Bar Association. She currently serves as the Vice Co-Chair of the Sponsorship Committee of the Elder Law & Special Needs Section, and as the Vice Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Trust and Estates Law Section. She is also a member of the New York City Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
Ms. Santo was selected as a “Rising Star” in New York Elder Law by “Super Lawyers” in 2024. Each year, no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are selected to receive this honor.
