Office of the Medicaid Inspector General Releases Compliance Guidance

Home > Media > Announcements > Office of the Medicaid Inspector General Releases Compliance Guidance

The Office of the Medicaid Inspector General has released guidance to assist providers in the implementation of the recently revised compliance regulations.

OMIG updated and expanded the compliance program requirements for most Medicaid providers as of December, 2022. Enforcement of these updated requirements could begin as soon as the end of March 2023. The new guidance describes the evidence OMIG will review to assess whether a provider’s compliance program is effective. OMIG has also provided a “compliance program review module,” that providers will be asked to complete during OMIG compliance program audits.

The Compliance Program Guidance is available here.

The Compliance Program Review Module is available here.

Impacted clients are encouraged to download and carefully review these documents and include copies in their compliance program binders.
