Course Objective: Complying with the many federal, state and local laws that regulate our everyday employment decisions is challenging. It is important to understand labor and employment laws, including employment at will, pre-employment questions, hiring practices, recordkeeping, complying with wage and hours laws and staying away from discrimination claims. These issues are complicated by unemployment and workers compensation claims, and the involvement of various agencies and courts. The first step in being a better business, is to understand these basic employment issues.
