Abrams Fensterman is proud to announce that Moriah Adamo, Esq., Partner & Director of the Elder Law & Special Needs Practice in Lake Success, will be a workshop presenter at the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Conference on November 8, 2024. The event will take place at the Hilton Long Island in Melville, NY, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This complimentary conference, organized by the Alzheimer’s Association of Long Island, provides essential education and support for caregivers and loved ones of individuals affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses.
Moriah’s workshop, “Patient Advocacy: Legal Aspects of Maximizing Healthcare“, will offer practical legal insights into the complex landscape of healthcare management for patients and caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia. During her presentation, Moriah will address key legal standards of capacity, guiding caregivers on how to navigate competence issues while protecting their loved one’s rights within the healthcare system. Attendees will learn about the responsibilities and authority of healthcare decision-makers, including the legal implications and use of healthcare proxies, living wills, and MOLST forms.
