On November 10, the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University celebrated the naming of the Abrams Fensterman Lobby, recognizing the law firm’s long-standing support of Hofstra Law and its students.
“We as a firm are truly honored by this recognition from Hofstra Law” said Howard Fensterman, Managing Partner, Abrams Fensterman, LLP. “We are proudly committed to continuing our support of the law school and their talented and dedicated students.”
Members of Abrams Fensterman, including the 27 Hofstra Law alumni working at the firm, routinely serve as adjunct professors and guest speakers, and participate in the Law School’s mentorship programs and mock interview events.
“We are grateful for visionaries like Howard Fensterman, and everyone at Abrams Fensterman for their investment in Hofstra Law and their commitment to mentoring, training and hiring our students,” said Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, dean of Hofstra Law. “Their support ensures these efforts will continue to grow far into the future.”
The dedication of the Abrams Fensterman Lobby is part of Hofstra Law’s Vision 2020 Campaign. Alumnus Samuel J. Ferrara ’94, executive partner at Abrams Fensterman, served as a member of the Campaign’s Leadership Board.
The Abrams Fensterman Lobby is a multifunction space that is a place for students to study and collaborate as well as a gathering space for law school receptions, including graduation and community-focused events.
Only the second campaign in the Law School’s history, the Vision 2020 Campaign raised nearly $22 million, far surpassing its initial goal of $12.5 million and stretch goal of $17.5 million. The Vision 2020 Campaign supports Hofstra Law’s efforts to recruit outstanding and diverse students; provide scholarships to help students defray cost of attendance; expand cutting-edge programs in areas such as legal technology; create new interdisciplinary programs with Hofstra’s graduate schools; and make a difference in the community through its clinics and centers.
